A mentor and teaching coordinator, Mrs. Peart is a registered music teacher and a reputable member of the Winnipeg and Manitoba teaching communities. With over 40 years of teaching experience, she and Dr. Suarez have developed the most efficient and exciting way of teaching music, enriched by their positive and motivating educational philosophy which focuses on building on each student’s strengths.
Her friendly, positive and encouraging attitude creates a heartwarming atmosphere in the studio which makes every student feel part of an exciting musical world where they are happy to be learning music. Mrs. Peart holds a Master’s Degree in Music and Piano Performance. She oversees all the teaching at her studio and assures the uniformity of teaching standards and practices and overall excellence.
Jorge Suárez is a phenomenal pianist whose many hundreds of concerts have covered the Americas, Europe, the former USSR, and Asia. Since his orchestral debut at age 9, he has performed over 45 piano concertos with important symphonic ensembles of North America and Europe. A recorded Artist with an ample and diversified repertoire, Dr. Suarez has studied at Curtis Institute (Philadelphia), Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Moscow), McGill University (Montreal, Doctor in Music), University of Southern California (Los Angeles), Institute for Advanced Musical Studies (Montreux), and Ravel Academy (France). His many teachers include Heinrich Neuhaus, Philippe Entremont and Rosina Lhevinne.
An Adjudicator of various musical competitions, academic scholar and lecturer on musical and humanistic subjects and the dean of Mexico’s largest music department, the Music School of the National University of Mexico (UNAM). Has held a professorship at various major universities, including Queen’s and University of Manitoba in Canada.
Holds an honour’s Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, achieving high distinction and scholarship student designation. Holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Literature and also a Master’s of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology. A singer-songwriter and performer with a genuine love and passion for music as a vehicle for creative and soulful self expression. Also a psychotherapist who believes strongly in the critical role that creativity plays in actualizing our potentialities as human beings and living a life that is passionately rich and engaged. Specializes in encouraging students to find their own musical voice and style and helps them overcome fears, anxieties and hesitations about performing in front of others.
Rose graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance. She was a finalist in the 2019 and 2020 Zita Bernstein German Lieder Competition and has been a finalist in multiple classes at the AMAF Provincial Festival. Rose started taking voice lessons at the age of 7 and worked through all the Royal Conservatory Music before entering the university and continuing with Tracy Dahl. In her flute studies, Rose made her way through the RCM books and continued taking lessons in university. She teaches beginner to university-entry levels, and students of all ages. For both voice and flute, Rose loves to perform solo and with ensembles – her favourite ensemble being her family.
Though she mainly focused on classical music in her studies, Rose loves to explore and teach other genres, such as musical theatre, popular music, folk, sacred, rock and many others. In her approach to teaching students, she works with the students’ goals and guides them through the discovery of their instrument with whatever songs and styles they wish to sing/play. Rose has worked with many young musicians as young as 5 to prepare songs be it for festival, a concert, a performance for grandma, or even just for the love of singing/playing. Rose guides her students through the depth and the flow of musicality with their instrument. She loves teaching music because of the connections made between the teacher and student. Because of her love for the human voice and body as a natural instrument, Rose’s goal is to cultivate a healthy and nurturing way to create music.
Grant Miller is a virtuoso guitarist who has been teaching guitar professionally for more than ten years. He has a master’s degree in classical guitar performance from the University of Arizona’s prestigious Bolton Guitar Studies Program, and spent five years as a graduate teaching assistant at the UofA. In addition to classical music, Grant is an accomplished performer in nearly all other styles and has a comprehensive knowledge of theory, technique, repertoire and gear.
“I teach whatever my students want to learn, and tailor my lesson plans to help them meet their goals. I have used many different methods over the years, and typically draw from several of these with additional support of well-known songs when designing a plan for a student. The most important aspect of my approach to teaching is my understanding that every student is an individual and needs their lessons to be as unique as they are.”
Rachel has been performing in Musical Theatre productions for 9 years, and has performed at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival, Saskatoon Fringe, twice in the RMTC’s Master Playwright Festival, and many more!
As a music instructor, she believes in fostering an understanding of a musical piece as a whole through technical and emotional development. She will work with her students to ensure that they provide an engaging, well-rounded, and fun performance for both themselves and their audience. We’ll find what makes them shine!
Edward Sun is a classically trained vocalist who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Bel Canto Singing from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, China. He has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Gold Award in the 2020 Yangcheng Cup Bel Canto Competition and the Silver Award at the 2021 Chuncheon International Vocal Competition in South Korea. Jiahao has performed in major operatic productions such as Hong Liu Peng Pai and Xinghai Xinghai, and he brings a strong background in teaching, having helped students succeed in top conservatory entrance exams and develop solid vocal and piano foundations.
Meet Marco, a remarkable virtuoso violinist who has mastered various styles of music throughout his professional career. Holding a prestigious music degree from the renowned Cuba National School of Arts, Marco spent four years teaching at the institution while simultaneously collaborating with the esteemed Cuba Symphony Orchestra, accompanying both the National Ballet and Opera. With his extensive background in education and performance, Marco possesses a wealth of experience as a seasoned music instructor, capable of teaching all and styles. His adaptability and genuine passion for music enables him to empower students to achieve their unique musical aspirations.
Soo Yeon Cho graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance. She performed numerous concerts with the University of Manitoba Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Royal Winnipeg Rifles Band. Soo Yeon also participated in many festival competitions in Winnipeg. She won the Robinson, Little & Company Limited Trophy and the Junior Musical Club Trophy, as well as an invitation to perform in a Gala Concert.
In 2019, Soo Yeon performed at the Yamaha US National Highlight Concert in Los Angeles, the Yamaha JOC National Concert in Winnipeg, and the Children’s Festival in Toronto as a Co-performer for flute.
Soo Yeon first started playing the piano at the age of five in South Korea. She immigrated to Canada at the age of eight and continued to learn and play the piano, as well as participated in a music festival. Soo Yeon was in a Grade 6 school band, and she chose the flute as her band instrument. Since then, she has enjoyed playing the flute and decided to continue as a flautist.
Given what she learned from her music studies, Soo Yeon wants to use her musical knowledge and experiences through teaching for piano and flute. She wants to help many students and inspire them to love music as much as possible. Soo Yeon also wants to build positive relationships with students and have fun while making music together.
Emily is a Voice and Speech instructor who trained intensively under world-renowned voice specialists across Canada, and graduated with honours from Studio 58, one of the most intensive theatre programs in the country. She is a classically trained pianist and performing artist. She has taught with prestigious programs such as Vancouver Film School and Arts Club Actors Intensive, and she directs a local drop-in choir.
Hi, I’m Ms. Danelle! I have deeply enjoyed teaching piano to students of all ages and skill levels for the past eleven years. I hold a Level 9 certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music with ongoing experience in advanced repertoire and have previously managed a wonderful home studio for five years. With a background in behavioural therapy, I take an empathetic approach to teaching and pride myself in balancing lessons with warmth and the structure needed for each child’s musical development. When I’m not teaching at the studio, I am likely spending time outdoors with my camera, attempting to cook a new recipe, or cuddling my Forest cat.
Miss Kaiya focuses on maintaining proper vocal technique and forming healthy habits, focusing on proper breathing methods using child-friendly techniques and healthy habits like proper posture, and warm ups. We will learn your favourite pop songs which promotes expressive singing, boosts confidence with familiarity and keeps kids engaged! We will also do pitch matching and ear training exercises while building rhythmic awareness. Singing benefits children so much, it boosts memory and focus, encourages emotional expression and builds confidence and self-esteem!
Jenna has been a teacher at our studio for 13 years, and was a student long before that. She loves cultivating a great relationship with her students and making every one of her classes exciting and fun. Outside of piano teaching she is an editor and a social media manager, and loves reading.
Devona has been teaching at Peart music studio for five years and has been a part of the studio as a student for much longer. She is a flute major in the early years music education stream at the UofM and aims to create a supportive environment for students that inspires and challenges them. Through teaching piano, flute and music theory she hopes to work with her students to cultivate a love for music.
I’ve been playing piano for over 15 years, and it’s truly my passion. Music has always been a big part of my life, and I love being able to share that joy with others through teaching. My goal is to help students not only build strong skills at the piano but also discover their own love for music in a fun and supportive way.
Hello, my name is Jennie Jang. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Piano in South Korea on a full scholarship and hold a music teacher certification. I have over 13 years of piano teaching experience and have performed as an accompanist for approximately 4–5 years. I have also participated in several masterclasses in Germany, including lessons with a professor at the Hanover University of Music, gaining valuable international musical experience.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in making music learning enjoyable and engaging. I aim to help students develop both their skills and confidence, nurturing a lifelong love for music.
Rachel is a second-year voice major at the University of Manitoba’s Desautels Faculty of Music. She hopes to enter the music education stream in the coming years and share her love of music with future students! With over twelve years of experience, Rachel has completed her Grade 8 studies in both Voice and Piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music and continues to grow as a versatile musician. She has been an active participant in the Winnipeg Music Festival for many years and enjoys performing in a variety of settings. Alongside voice and piano, Rachel also plays flute, piccolo, and tenor saxophone. She is excited for a year of growth, creativity, and plenty of smiles as she continues to share her passion for music with others!
Alexanne is a Winnipeg-born vocalist and songwriter with a passion for performance and storytelling. She earned her vocal performance diploma in Nelson, BC, studying a Berklee School of Music-based curriculum that helped refine her voice and expand her musical range. Influenced by a wide range of artists—from The Beatles and Louis Armstrong to Lizzy McAlpine and Sarah McLachlan—Alexanne blends genres with emotional depth and authenticity. She has performed at notable Winnipeg venues such as The Met, The Park Theatre, and The West End Cultural Centre.
In 2021, she was a provincial finalist in the Jim Beam National Talent Search, performing original music at OCL Studios. She now works in sync licensing, co-writing and performing 1960s-inspired tracks for TV and film.
With over five years of teaching experience, Alexanne brings her love for singing, songwriting, and recording into the classroom, creating a supportive and inspiring space for her students.

Jacob Kenny is a young tenor focused on classical music. Currently, he is in his fourth year at Canadian Mennonite University working towards a bachelor’s degree in music, with the intent of pursuing a career in music education. While originally from Ontario, Jacob has a history of performance with notable Winnipeg choirs such as the Winnipeg Boys Choir and CMU Singers for seven and three years, respectively. Recently, Jacob has been involved with groups such as Niel Weisensel’s SummerChor and Westminster’s choir as a tenor soloist, as well as participating with the Little Opera Company. Much of Jacob’s interest in music has come from his involvement at church through leading worship at several churches in Manitoba and Ontario. As Jacob continues to develop his musical talents, he hopes to continue performing and lead young musicians in their passion for music, bringing the passion from the practice room and onto the stage.
